We’re grateful for all of the corporate and community sponsors and volunteers who generously gave their time and resources so that 878 local families could enjoy a great Thanksgiving meal. Check out photos from this year’s Full Tummies, Warm Hearts activities.

Workplaces, civic groups, churches, schools, families, and individual supporters came together during our annal Thanksgiving food drive to help ensure that 3,674 people celebrated the holiday with a “full tummy” and a “warm heart.” We hope that you had a great Thanksgiving as well!

We’re warmed by the kind comments we received from recipients of the Full Tummies, Warm Hearts containers. Here are two of their messages:

From Chapman’s Retreat Elementary School counselor: One parent, who has taken in several children, was moved to tears when she saw everything [sponsors] did. They don’t just send a little basket of food, it’s several tubs and even includes a gift card to purchase a turkey. This program takes a huge load off of people during tough times. This year, I had a family ask about getting food through this program the week before we got out for Thanksgiving break. The sign-up forms are due in September for families wishing to participate. At the last minute, United Way of Williamson County had a tub put together for this family. Through our United Way donations, we have been able to be a part of helping others in our county and our CRES family!

From a Triune recipient: A wonderful Thanksgiving box, which contained a great selection of food, was delivered to my home on Friday, November 16. The persons who prepared this box did an excellent job of selecting a variety of food items from ‘soup’ to ‘candy’ and to top if off a [gift] card to use at Kroger. Thank you so much for this gift and for your thoughtfulness in sending it to me.

Below, emeritus board member Al Dorsey shares why Franklin Synergy Bank rallied together to sponsor families throughout Williamson County. And we’re happy to share the awesome video that Comdata created, which shows how their employees gathered food and decorations for 20 families.

We also appreciate our local media for sharing the impact of Full Tummies, Warm Hearts! They include Williamson HeraldWilliamson Source, and Brentwood Homepage.

Many thanks from The Patricia Hart Society and United Way!
