Summer/Fall Volunteer Opportunities at United Way

Summer and fall are exciting and fast-paced seasons at United Way, and we need a few volunteers to help us shine bright! Our current volunteer opportunities include (but are not limited to):

Our tutoring program pairs volunteers with 1st – 4th grade students that need extra help with reading and math. Volunteer tutors engage students before or after school and help teachers with lessons and learning games. If you’d like to explore your passion for helping kids, please consider joining the tutoring team. The fall tutoring session runs for approximately 10 weeks. Thirteen tutoring sites across Williamson County are available. Volunteers commit 1.5 to 2.5 hours per week. Background checks and training are provided.

Each year, the community comes together to collect food and sponsor families’ Thanksgiving meals. Each food box includes nonperishable food and gift cards for perishables, plus anything the sponsor would like to include, such as warm socks, games, treats, or holiday decorations. On November 21, we need volunteer drivers to help load and deliver the food boxes to local schools and nonprofits.

We invite those with a heart for volunteerism and collaboration to join the Taste of Williamson and/or United Way 5K/8K event committees. With just a few hours each month during planning season, you will help strengthen these events, increase visibility, and engage the community– all in support of United Way funded programs.

Taste of Williamson, a favorite of the local and regional community, returns on March 8.
